Driving Path of Intelligent Empowerment of Intellectual Capital for High-Quality Enterprise Development —From the Perspective of Configurational Analysis

Abstract:Under the strategic backdrop of comprehensive intelligent development,how intellectual capital drives the high-quality growth of enterprises has become a critical issue urgently needing clarification in both theory and practice.This study breaks through traditional linear thinking by adopting a configurational perspective.Taking 217 STAR Market enterprises in 2023 as research subjects,it employs fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis to systematically examine the synergistic effects of three dimensions of intellectual capital,AI capabilities,government digital attention,and executive digital backgrounds on total factor productivity.The findings reveal:first,no single necessary condition exists,but high-level human capital and executive digital backgrounds jointly form an indispensable core foundation.Second,four equivalent pathways exist for high-quality development,corresponding to“independent breakthrough-oriented,”“systematic R&D,”“traditional collaboration,”and“intelligent collaboration,”with the latter pathway most distinctly embodying the deep empowerment logic of intelligent technology.Third,relational capital exhibits significant contextual dependency-its synergy with strong human capital can foster innovation,while its combination with weak human capital may hinder development,presenting a“double-edged sword”effect.Fourth,the study identifies a functional substitution relationship among AI,relational capital,and structural capital,providing a basis for enterprises to flexibly construct capability systems.This research deepens the theoretical understanding of the multifaceted mechanisms through which intelligent empowerment enhances intellectual capital,clarifies the contingent role of intellectual capital and the new paradigm of“human-machine collaboration,”and offers evidence for differentiated resource allocation by STAR Market enterprises and precise policy implementation by government departments.
