Abstract：Against the dual backdrop of accelerating the new development paradigm featuring dual circulation and profound global productivity transformation,how new quality productive forces empower the digital transformation of foreign direct investment enterprises warrants attention.Using China's A-share listed companies from 2013 to 2023 as the research sample,this study measures the level of new quality productive forces through the scale of regionally certified“specialized,refined,distinctive,and innovative”enterprises.It then empirically examines,from a regional perspective,the impact of new quality productive forces development on the digital transformation of local foreign direct investment enterprises.The findings reveal that the development of new quality productive forces significantly promotes the digital transformation of foreign direct investment enterprises.This effect is more pronounced among enterprises with high asset endowments,those in the growth and mature stages,and those receiving high government R&D subsidies.Mechanism analysis indicates that regional development of new quality productive forces provides key support and core momentum for the digital transformation of foreign direct investment enterprises by stimulating the development potential of the domestic market and strengthening the technological advantages of overseas investments.These findings provide new empirical evidence for deepening digital transformation through new quality productive forces development and offer valuable insights for accelerating the smooth operation of the dual circulation of domestic and international economic systems.
