Research on the Impact of Innovation Factor Agglomeration on New Quality Productive Forces: From the Perspective of Spatial Spillover Effect and Spatial Attenuation Boundary

Abstract:As the core driving force of national and regional scientific and technological progress,innovation factors are of decisive significance to the cultivation and development of new quality productive forces.Based on the panel data of 30 provincial administrative regions in China from 2010 to 2021,this paper uses a spatial econometric model to study the impact of the agglomeration of innovation factors on the level of new quality productive forces from the dual perspectives of spatial spillover effect and spatial attenuation boundary characteristics.The study finds that innovation talent agglomeration and innovation capital agglomeration have significant positive effects on local new quality productive forces,but their effects on external regions are different.The level of new quality productive forces in neighboring areas is affected by the siphon effect of innovative talent agglomeration and the radiation effect of innovation capital agglomeration.The opposite is true for economically similar areas.The spatial effect attenuation boundary test finds that with the increase of geographical distance,the negative spillover effect of innovation talent agglomeration appears,while the positive spillover effect of innovation capital agglomeration tends to be stable.From the perspective of economic distance,the radiation effect of innovation talent agglomeration first decreases and then increases before and after the threshold of 2.4 trillion yuan,and the siphon effect of innovation capital agglomeration strengthens with the increase of economic distance.In view of this,this paper provides policy inspiration for promoting the development of new quality productive forces from the perspective of different innovation factors agglomeration.
