Promoting Stability or Change? The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Supply Chain Relationships

Abstract：Based on the data of Chinese A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2010 to 2023,this paper examines the impact of focused enterprise AI technology application on supply chain relationships.Results show that AI significantly enhances supply chain stability,and robustness tests confirm this.Mechanism tests indicate that AI strengthens stability through three channels named as market matching,risk management,and integration and coordination.Moderation tests show that higher supply chain network status weakens AI's stabilizing effect.Heterogeneity analysis shows that the effect differs across dimensions.AI has stronger impact for growth-stage firms, “specialized and innovative” enterprises,and in contexts of low policy uncertainty,low financing constraints,and long geographic distance.These findings provide new evidence on AI in supply chain management and policy guidance for promoting “smart chain integration.”
