Research on Identifying Key Common Technologies in Industrial Chains Based on an Improved K-Shell Algorithm and Multi-Dimensional Value Integration:A Case Study of the Semiconductor Industrial Chain

Abstract:Identifying key common technologies is crucial for enhancing innovation collaboration within industrial chains.Addressing the limitations of existing research,which focuses solely on individual technological value or simple combinations,this study proposes an identification method that integrating both technological attributes and relational value.Taking the semiconductor industrial chain as an example,patents are retrieved using keywords derived from semiconductor products,components,and processes,with IPC classifiers used to characterise technologies.A commonality technology network is constructed based on universality and connectivity.A random forest algorithm is employed to establish an evaluation framework assessing the value of each technological attribute.An enhanced K-shell algorithm is designed,innovatively incorporating the fusion value of neighbouring related technologies and the influence of indirect related technologies within the commonality network to rank the importance of each technology,thereby identifying key commonality technologies.This methodology identified 24 key common technologies spanning semiconductor growth,including etching,thin-film deposition,advanced patterning,manufacturing,and packaging/testing technologies.It provides a scientifically robust methodological framework for the precise identification of critical common technologies within industrial chains.
