Abstract:Amid rapid technological innovation and industrial transformation,the science and technology service industry has become a key bridge between innovation and industrial upgrading.Based on dynamic capabilities theory,this study examines five leading global firms—IBM,Thermo Fisher Scientific,Danaher,Accenture,and Infosys—to explore their growth drivers and evolution.The findings show a common path of demand orientation,long-term accumulation,technology-driven growth,strategic transformation,and value leap.Their growth is shaped by the dynamic interaction of vision,capabilities,and resources,forming a self-reinforcing capability loop.Four regularities are identified:demand-capability coupling,dynamic capability renewal,ecosystem positioning and feedback,and diversified growth strategies.Together,these mechanisms form a cycle linking demand cognition,technological realization,and market transformation.The study suggests that Chinese science and technology service firms should adopt asymmetric strategies,strengthen knowledge accumulation,enhance supply-demand coupling and ecosystem synergy,and move from follower-based growth to leading innovation.
