Research on the Competitive Situation of Cloud Computing Industry Based on Bibliometric and Patent Analysis

Abstract：As a supporting industry of the Internet industry, cloud computing has greatly influenced the development of high-tech industries such as the Internet of Things and big data.In order to explore the global cloud computing industrys R&D competition and Chinas opportunities and challenges in the field of cloud computing, this article analyzes the basic theoretical literature and patent data so as to explore the basic research level of cloud computing and the level of technological development, and its status in the international arena.The analysis result shows that China is quite active in the basic theory research about cloud computing, but the quality of publications is not good, and the degree of cooperation between domestic authors is not high.In terms of patent development, the number of the patents that China holds is the highest in the world, but there are still some technical gaps such as the virtual machine, data storage devices and service modes, and there is a risk of being exploited by foreign institutions.Based on this conclusion, this article tentatively proposes relevant suggestions for the development of Chinas cloud computing industry.
