Abstract:Against the backdrop of global supply chain restructuring and a sharp rise in uncertainty,strengthening firms' supply chain stability has become a key lever for overcoming development bottlenecks and promoting high-quality economic growth.Using data on A-share listed firms in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2015 to 2023,this study examines the effect of the specialized,refined,differential,and innovative(SRDI)“Little Giant”recognition on firms' supply chain stability(SCS).The results show that the“Little Giant”recognition significantly improves firms' SCS,and this finding remains robust after a series of robustness tests.Mechanism analysis indicates that market power,operational capability,resource allocation efficiency,and innovation capability are important channels through which the designation affects firms' SCS.Heterogeneity analysis further reveals that this positive effect is more pronounced among firms located in eastern China,firms in technology-intensive industries,and firms in the growth stage.Extended analysis shows that the“Little Giant”recognition alleviates firms' reliance on commercial credit from upstream and downstream partners,thereby reducing overall supply chain risk.This study provides both a theoretical basis and empirical evidence for further optimizing the cultivation policy for“Little Giant”firms and improving institutional arrangements aimed at enhancing firms' SCS.
