Research Progress on Identification Methods of“Bottleneck”Technologies

Abstract:Sorting out the conceptual connotation and identification methods of“bottleneck”technologies,summarizing the limitations of existing research,and outlining future research prospects,can provide intelligence support for China's breakthrough in“bottleneck”technologies.Firstly,the concept and characteristics of“bottleneck”technologies are defined.Secondly,the identification methods for such technologies are systematically reviewed,with a comparative analysis of the strengths and limitations of different approaches.Finally,the existing research gaps are summarized,and future research directions are proposed.Research findings show that in terms of conceptual connotation,existing studies primarily defines the notion of“bottleneck”technologies from perspectives such as key core technologies,national strategic security,technological gaps,and industrial security.In terms of identification methods,this paper summarizes existing approaches as those based on expert consultation,control list,the technology gap index,indicator evaluation system,patent citation network,as well as hybrid identification methods.Future research should explore an integrated identification framework for“bottleneck”technologies which deeply combines multiple methodologies,on the basis of multi-source heterogeneous data and large language models.Simultaneously,efforts should be made to enhance both the granularity of identification and the predictive capability of“bottleneck”technologies detection approaches.
