Abstract This article investigates the development of research evaluation system in Australia.The features and inspiration of excellence in research for Australia are analyzed,which involve evaluation target,evaluation content,evaluation methods,and evaluation expert selection,in order to provide a reference to improve research evaluation system in Chinese universities
