Abstract Taking the American oversea IP market as the object, this study characterizes its evolving size, composition and flow direction.Thus it provides us with preliminary understanding of the features and development process of the international IP trade.The findings are valuable to predict the global trend of IP trade and navigate Chinas position in the global trade in IP.In addition, it is helpful for the formulation of China's open innovation strategies.
