Abstract Science popularization industry,as an important part of the cultural industry,needs to vigorously develop in the strategic context of the current cultural industry development.However,intellectual property will more or less promote or hinder the role of science popularization industry.From the perspective of intellectual property,there are many elements for the science industry to the rapid advance,which include the protection and attention on intellectual property from the society as a whole,market players utilization and management on intellectual property,and intellectual property concessions and restrictions and so on.Discovery Channel is the best example in the global development of science popularization industry.
