Abstract Every iteration of human civilization is inseparable from the vigorous promotion of science and technology.Contemporary digital technology is both an opportunity and a challenge to the progress of human civilization,and while it promotes the rapid development of human material civilization,it also brings about profound changes in human spiritual civilization.Only by adhering to Marxist dialectical materialism and historical materialism,profoundly drawing on the reasonable elements of the theory of mind-body relationship in the excellent Chinese traditional culture,and correctly addressing the fundamental challenges facing the development of material and spiritual civilization in the digital era,can we scientifically deal with the multidimensional and complex relationship between material and spiritual civilization in the digital era on the basis of harmonizing the internal elements of both.
