Quality and Quantity of Agricultural Technological Innovation ——Comparative Analysis Based on the International Development Trend of Agricultural Patents |

Abstract This article uses the PatSnap global patent database to collect domestic and foreign agricultural patent data from 1985 to 2019,and compares the quantity and quality of agricultural patents in different dimensions from the number of agricultural patent applications,the number of applications,the proportion of valid invention patents,the number of patents cited,the value of patents,the number of claims,the distribution of patent technology fields,and an in-depth analysis of the advantages and shortcomings of China's agricultural patents are conducted.The results show that,in terms of quantity,the number of Chinese agricultural patents has increased exponentially,and surpassed other countries;In terms of quality,China's agricultural patents have problems such as a low proportion of high-quality patents,insufficient number of top-level patents,and lack of absolute voice,the unfavorable layout advantages in popular technology fields.We believe that it is necessary to strengthen policy guidance and strategic layout in the technical field,encourage universities and research institutes to face the market,and improve the patent quality system to improve the quality of agricultural patents in China.
