Abstract：Scientific research capacity in colleges and universities is an important issue of education sector in China.The scientific research capacity evolution index system is built,subjective and objective comprehensive weighting method is used to analyze the degree of scientific research capacity in provinces of China.By using LSE method to divide China into different types of dominant factors,several conclusions can be highlighted:The degree of scientific research capacity in China can be divided into 4 types:high degree,comparatively higher,ordinary degree and comparatively weak degree.The degree of scientific research capacity in colleges and universities of different regions matches the regional economic development level as a whole.
