Abstract:Artificial intelligence technology is the key force driving a new round of global technological revolution.Since artificial intelligence industry have the characteristics of product complexity and technology integration,China will encourage companies to participate in standard formulation and improve standardization capabilities as an important means to improve the quality of industrial development.This article uses artificial intelligence listed companies from 2010 to 2021 as a research sample to empirically test the impact of standard setter status on the innovation quality of artificial intelligence companies.The study found that the status of standard setter significantly improves the innovation quality of artificial intelligence enterprises,and is more significant among application layer enterprises,state-owned enterprises and large and medium-sized enterprises.The analysis of intermediary mechanisms shows that the status of standard setter can improve the innovation quality of artificial intelligence enterprises by promoting cooperative innovation and improving innovation efficiency.To this end,China must attach great importance to the leading role of standardization strategy in technological innovation in the artificial intelligence industry,drive breakthroughs in key core technologies through “standards first”, and fully tap the two-way promotion mechanism of standard innovation and technological innovation to achieve artificial intelligence enterprise standards and technology collaborative improvement.
