Abstract：The R&D output that the companies use may be from the results of their own performing R&D activities,but mostly gain from other enterprise R&D activities.In this paper,using the Yale-Canada Concordance,the R&D expenditure(or capital)used in the manufacturing industry of Beijing is calculated,in which the invention or patent by industry of use embodies.Moreover,the paper investigates the relationship between R&D and productivity.We find that R&D performed or used by the industry has significantly positive effects on productivity,and the output elasticity of using R&D is twice as high as that of performing R&D
