Abstract Based on open service innovation with multi-participators,the paper discussed the behavior of platform enterprises and other subjects searching for heterogeneous innovation knowledge in the platform ecosystem.Then it proposed three different transboundary search modes according to different cooperation partners,including the technology-based mode,the business-based mode,and the integrated mode.At last,by analyzing a case on Baidu platform,the paper concluded that as leaders of the whole ecosystem,platform enterprises should choose a transboundary search mode according to characteristics in sharing of knowledge,creation of value and social relations.This not only helps the flow of innovation knowledge and the integration of innovation resource,but also improves the performance of service innovation,which will lead to a long-term,steady mechanism of cross-border cooperation
