Abstract This article introduced the conception of formal and informal network consistency,and studied the mechanism of knowledge exchange and combination.The results showed that consistency between formal sequence workflow network and informal advisory network was negatively associated with knowledge exchange and combination;Consistency between formal interaction workflow network and informal advisory network had an inverted U-shaped influence on knowledge exchange and combination;Besides,organization communication had a mediation influence between the consistency of interaction workflow and informal advisory network and knowledge exchange and combination.The conclusions have an important implications for future study and have a good reference for enterprise to improve knowledge exchange and combination skills
