Abstract There are some problems in maize seed industry.These problems directly restrict the overall functionality of maize seed industry chain in China.Targeted strategic policies should be carried out in view of agricultural development.Besides creating a good external environment, it is more important to forge a whole chain of maize seed industry and to cultivate the endogenous impetus for the sustainable development in China through advancing innovation in research and development system, production and marketing models.
