The Relay Innovation Based on the Mergers and Acquisitions:a Breakthrough Mechanism of Scientific Instrument Industry |

Abstract The development of the high-end scientific instrument industry is of all-round great strategic significance,providing advantages in core technology competition and enhancing the self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology for the country.Applying the multi-case study method,this study builds up the relay innovation model based on the M&A in the high-end scientific instrument industry,and analyzes the theoretical connotation and formation mechanism of the relay innovation based on M&A.On this basis,the breakthrough mechanism of the high-end scientific instrument industry has been explored from the perspective of the relay innovation based on M&A.Two kinds of complementary core participants and three types of leading mechanisms of the industrial breakthrough have been analyzed.In the end,the policy implications have been put forward to improve the development of the scientific instrument industry.
