Abstract  Knowledge shows a range of complex characteristics such as adaptability and mutagenicity.By understanding the evolutionary laws of knowledge, enterprises can make better use of their own knowledge through the improved applicability, stability and value re-creating ability of it.According to the set theory, the influencing mechanism model of knowledge evolution is constructed in this study, which involves three levels and six factors of knowledge level, evolutionary motivation and direction.Besides,a qualitative comparative analysis of fuzzy sets is conducted on 161 high-tech companies,to obtain the following research results.①The driving mechanism of knowledge adaptive/genetic evolution consists of three paths, including the knowledge power driven under the logic dominated by knowledge base, the knowledge absorptive capacity and the sharing intention driven under the logic dominated by knowledge base, and the knowledge power and the knowledge sharing intention driven under the logic dominated by knowledge base.②The driving mechanism of knowledge mutated evolution involves three paths, including the knowledge distance driven under the logic dominated by knowledge base and knowledge power, the knowledge sharing intention and the knowledge diffusive path driven under the logic dominated by knowledge base and knowledge power, and the knowledge absorptive capacity and the sharing intention driven under the logic dominated by both knowledge base and knowledge diffusive path.
