Abstract Business Continuity Management(BCM)is a new managerial philosophy for coping with risk.This paper systematically introduces the background,origin and development of BCM.After analyzing the relationship and difference among the concepts of BCM,disaster recovery and sustainable development,this paper highlights the review of BCM from practical and theoretical perspectives.Moreover,the application and benefits of BCM to scientific and technological enterprises are discussed.Based on bibliometric analysis,its current research status,hotspots and critical research progress are introduced as well.It is anticipated that this review could provide guidance for the BCM application and study in China.
