Abstract:The paper conducted an empirical analysis on the influence of the strength of food safety regulation and its effect in 29 provinces by spatial Durbin model.It attempted to make clear the direct and indirect spatial spillover effect of food safety regulation across the districts and the spatial inertia.The result shows that food safety regulation has significant positive impacts on the food security situation.Food safety regulation in the peripheral areas has positive influence on direct spillover effect and negative influence on indirect spillover effect of the food security situation in local area.The economic development level and education level of the area has a significant effect.Then suggestions and solutions are put forward as follows:the improvement and reinforcement of the investment of food safety regulation should be continued,cooperative regulation in the field of food safety should be carried on,regional long-term mechanism of food safety regulation should be intensified,the propaganda and training in food safety knowledge and technology should be strengthened and the economic structure should as well be optimized
