Abstract：Open innovation is a new innovation paradigm in which innovating firms share and complement innovation resources through acquiring and integrating external resources.It defines open innovation and tracks the current research,analyzes the new extension directions and challenges,and puts forward the pathway of improving its governance.At last the paper gives some implications for policy making.
