Abstract：There is robust evidence that in university-industry-research institute interactions,the pattern of technology transfer through intellectual property rights commercialization activities represents only the “tip of the iceberg” that is underpinned by less formal activities.According to the modern views of innovation,we identify a much broader spectrum that covers different dimensions of knowledge transfer activities and compare the indicators of knowledge transfer activities and knowledge transfer effects in the UNICO report and IPRIA report.Using the framework,we then check the availability of metrics for the impact of university-industry-research institute interactions in China and give some advices for data collection
