Abstract In the theoretical framework of Induced Technological Innovation Theory,trans-log production function panel date econometric method is used in this paper to calculate the agricultural biased technological progress of the entire country and its different regions from 1995 to 2012,and then some evaluation on different regional agricultural technological progress patterns is made combined with the local resource endowment characteristics.The conclusion shows that agricultural technological progress pattern in national level is a labor-saving one,which does not comply with the direction of technological progress in induced innovation theory.Compared with the central region,the direction of technological progress in the eastern and western regions is contrary to the comparative advantage characteristics of labor resources.Compared with the grain selling areas and sales balance areas,the relative scarcity of agricultural labor in grain producing areas may partly explain why its agricultural technological progress pattern is a labor-saving one
