Abstract As a new risk management tool,the agricultural meteorological index insurance can make up for the technical problems and management difficulty that exists in our traditional agricultural insurance.However,it is difficult for the current agricultural weather index insurance product to accomplish the promotion from theory to practice.The main reason lies in the technical and market problems during its establishment.In order to improve the agricultural weather index insurance product,people should improve the index selection mechanism and product construction program;improve the integrity and reality of data;combine other departments to researching agricultural weather index insurance product,improve traditional farmers cognitive level of meteorological index insurance;actively develop insurance of meteorological index;develop the policy space of meteorological index insurance.
