| The Chain Effect of Industrial Clusters Relocation:Measure Method and Empirical Analysis |

Abstract Based on the two VC industrial cluster chains of Silicon Valley-Beijing and Silicon Valley-Shanghai, this paper measures and analyzes the chain effect in the spatial relocation of industrial clusters according to the different types of inter-cluster connections.The results show that for those growing industrial cluster chains, the cluster chain effect will increase and the inter-cluster connection will be enhanced over time;the direct chain effect is stronger than the indirect chain effect because of the intermediary role of relocated firms and it also influences its “global pipeline” more;and the cluster chain effect in Silicon Valley-Beijing VC industrial cluster chain is a little stronger than it in Silicon Valley-Shanghai while their chain effects have the similar evolutional characteristics
