Abstract The approaches to intellectual property protection of traditional medicine in China include the current legal system of intellectual property,biology diversity and intangible culture heritage.But there are still some shortcomings in practice.To preserve the resources and prevent the misuse of traditional medicine knowledge,it is necessary to establish special provision of traditional medicine,improve the relative regulations in current laws and set up a database of traditional medicine knowledge
