Abstract The core issue is the degree of innovation openness under the open innovation model.Technical characteristics are the initiative factors which affect the enterprise’s innovation openness.We found that the technical characteristics influence the degree of innovation openness from different directions and different levels.The empirical results show that the technological uncertainty has significant negative impact on the degree of innovation openness.The technological interrelatedness, technological modularity and the technological explicitation have significant positive impact on the degree of innovation openness.With the development of innovation, technological uncertainty descends gradually.
