Abstract Entrepreneurship is one of the effective ways for global poverty alleviation.Based on the theoretical analysis of the definition,characteristics and types of poverty alleviation through entrepreneurship,this paper divides the patterns of poverty alleviation through entrepreneurship in China into two types:exogenous poverty alleviation and endogenous poverty alleviation and analyzes the two entrepreneurship cases of the special commissioners of science and technology going to the rural areas and the “Taobao Village”farmer E-businessmen and compares the two patterns.Then the paper puts forward some policy implications based on the research findings.
